Have any of you formed any types of partnerships/corporations? Is there anything you would have done differently? (Note, I am not looking for legal advice of any kind, that's what lawyers are for. I'm just looking for expierences you can share.)
As background, a client of mine and I are looking into forming an LLC to develop and license software that has grown out of projects I have done for them.

I formed my LLC with MyCorporation.com, this company provides speedy and excellent service at an affordable price. Highly recommended!

MyCorporation.com is one of the big ones, but there are others.
Having a company do the work for you is much easier than doing it yourself, I think, since I have not done it yet.
I did buy two books on the subject and read both.
Inc. Yourself and
Incorporating your business for dummies
You'll be ahead of the game if you read a book on the subject before getting into the process either way.
I was AMAZED at the advantages a corporation has...!
You think that I heard is that an Inc. appears more professional than an LLC, and an 'C' Corp also appears more professional than an 'S' corp.
But if I take this step, I will probably go for an "s" corp, since I do not expect to every get very big, and I could always switch if I ever wanted to.
One tip that I heard and you should check out with a lawyer or tax advisor:
Have a corp and your own company too.
Have the Corp get the contracts and do the billing. Your own company bills the corp and gets paid by the corp.
Keep everything separate between the two and never, never mix your "personal" monies with either business. Use separate CC and checking accounts.
Good lick,
Christian
