While this article is titled "What .Net actually means for CIOs," it is actually a good read for anyone wondering what the hype about .Net is all about. It gives an excellent high level overview of how .Net works and what it is used for. I highly recommend reading this article, even if you never plan to program with .Net. It will at least give you an understanding of what it is.
