I poke around the freelance job sites and got sick of going to six different places looking for stuff so I wrote up a job-crawler to go out and find all the new jobs and display them all on one page.
Check it out.

Will be a lot more there, but for now it is a nice way to quickly find jobs in the section "area" that you are looking for (i.e. click on the job types to limit the view to only those types of jobs)
and hey! saying this is the sound off area, I got into the PHP "Who's who" on zend.com this week for an article I did for them! woowoo
(now I am just like matt and all cool and stuff..)
I hope the shirt fits.

Excellent tutorial there on zend also :)
Welcome to the club on the Who's Who page. Too bad we are still on the small fry side of the page ;)
And if you are talking about the Zend t-shirt, they run a bit small. Order larger than you need...
Ohh.. and I like the listbid.com site also. Excellent idea. Make sure you take advantage of the affiliate programs some of those sites offer for referring programmers :)

oh yea, I took advantage of those of course.
however the ones with affiliate programs don't have a lot of projects posted on a daily basis. The main ones with posts (scriptlance/rentacoder) don't have them.
in addition, both those sites are not very savvy for either programmers or webmasters looking for work.
I have this bad habit of getting interested in something and then seeing that I don't like how those things are done on the web and thus programming my own. :)
Anyway, yea, we are on the peon side of the list. :(
hehe..

woo woo!
btw, I got the shirt!
got the "PHP addict" one with the zend studio thing on the back of it.
all geeked out in php clothes hehehe..
Anyway, have completed a lot of work on Listbid.com ( http://listbid.com ), should be ready for some beta testers very soon. I will post here when ready. Obviously will be a free service to programmers and project admins during beta.

Hey Joe, it looks good :) However, you could try making the gray you're using as your alternate table color a little bit lighter.. I would also make sure there was some air between the three tables (LISTBID FEATURED PROJECTS, LISTBID PROJECTS and PROJECTS FROM AROUND THE NET )
Btw, there's some very optimistic folks posting jobs there (http://www.scriptlance.com/cgi-bin/freelancers/project.cgi?id=1046839295&).. Max $150? Right... ;)

Yea, I am still messing around with colors a bit and some of the table spacings.
At this point I am working out the core functionality and that being almost finished will then switch over to UI changes.
The main points I am working on at present are the private project msg board for when a bid has been accepted and money transferred into escrow accounts already. And the ratings system. Both of those should not take much time and at that point I will just add a users forum for feedback and chatting etc. After that, and a period of seeing it work decently, go live.
I am hoping that not charging any fee's except on featured listings and a small amount on the escrow funds (covers the paypal cost) will bring me a few users..
Anyway, thanks for the feedback.
