While I'm no expert in this area (not even close), if you're in the US, you ARE required to keep track of your earnings and report them. There are forms that you and your employers that you do contract work for must sign and keep track off. You are both required to report this during tax season. In most cases, if you are not reporting your freelance earnings, you are breaking the law.

Well, same in Canada, but I'm intersted if you have a certain minimum earnings level that you may not pay taxes on?

In Canada, for example, if you make less than $12,000 a year, you don't pay taxes. How is it in America?
